Oahu

 Our B717 flight to Oahu

 First stop - Pearl Harbor

 Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941
This map shows Pearl Harbor on the morning of the surprise Japanese attack.
More than 185 ships and service craft were moored here.  The fleet's three aircraft carriers were at sea.
The attack lasted 110 minutes starting at 7:55am.
A total of 2,335 US servicemen were killed and 1,143 were wounded.  68 civilians were also killed.
The attack on Pearl Harbor brought the US into World War II.

The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial

The actual anchor from the USS Arizona.
It weighs almost 20,000 pounds!

The Battleship Missouri was the last US battleship ever built.
World War II ended on her deck on September 2, 1945.

Next stop - The North Shore!

 Meet Brutus (Hawaiian name:  Nalukai)
Brutus is 45 years old and weighs 190 lbs.
Brutus loves this beach - he basks in the sun over half the days of the year.

 Meet Olivia-Dawn (Hawaiin name:  Ipo)
Olivia-Dawn is 40 years old and weighs 210 lbs.

Our home on the North Shore.
Our door is on the right.

The beach in front of our home.
This beach is part of the 7 mile miracle that stretches across the North Shore.

Pipeline!  Surfers from around the world come here to surf.
Pipeline was only a 15 beach minute walk from our "home".
