Seattle

Our connector flight was through Seattle.
We had enough time to explore the waterfront!

Great fish and chips for dinner!
The end to an incredible trip!

Oahu

John's early morning exploration to Ala Moana Beach.
There is a swim club there every morning.

Our last day at the Waikiki Banyan.

The Banyan Tree on Waikiki Beach.
The Westin Hotel looks like a plantation.
We loved the coffee shop next door and enjoying morning coffee in the big chairs on the veranda.
  A great people watching spot.
LOTS of weddings at "The Plantation".

These buses are everywhere on Waikiki.

At the top of the Diamond Head Lookout.

Archival photos from the Diamond Head Interpretive Centre.

A treat after a good hike up Diamond Head.

Ala Moana Mall

Our favourite store at the Ala Moana Mall.

Ala Moana Beach

A final visit to our favourite "Plantation Chairs".

The owner's band from Mary and Gordon's hotel.

A favourite Korean restaurant.  Great food!  Take out for the beach!

Our last moon in Hawaii.

Oahu

Our lobby and tower at the Waikiki Banyan.
Today we just explored Waikiki and all the shops.

This Banyan Tree was planted in 1904 by Jared Smith.  It is 75 feet tall and 150 feet wide.
In 1979, this historic tree was one of the first to be recorded on Hawaii's Rare and Exceptional Tree List.

King's Corner and Moose McGillycuddy's were hang out spots during Leah's Grade 12 Hawaii Trip.

Waikiki Beach.

We ended the day with mud pie - YUM!

Oahu

Our room at the Waikiki Banyan.  Mary and I are on the balcony.

John took a picture of us - we had to take a picture of him!

Waikiki used to be swampland!

A great start to a great day.
Breakfast at Shorebird with Gordon and Mary.

Nu'uanu Pali Lookout.

Having fun!  The expression on this lady's face is priceless!

Very cool roots on this tree.

Lanikai Beach - this is becoming our favourite Oahu beach!

A view of "Pillbox" from Lanikai.

This is the beach "From Here to Eternity" was filmed at.

The trail to Spitting Cave of Portlock.

The view from Round Top Drive in Puu Ualakaa State Park.
On our first stop, which we thought was the lookout was a private party!
They actually asked us to stay - we barely made it in time.

A great dinner at the end of a great day!
